Pick with weighted odds from your list

Give some entries a higher chance using Name|2 or Name|3. Odds show as bars, and the wheel grows larger slices for higher weights.

6 items · weights detected · Ctrl/⌘+Enter to run

  • Alice×3 · 33.3%
  • Bob×1 · 11.1%
  • Carol×1 · 11.1%
  • Dana×2 · 22.2%
  • Evan×1 · 11.1%
  • Fran×1 · 11.1%

Weighted slices: higher |N gets a larger pie piece.

Put a number after | on each line. Higher number = more likely (and a bigger wheel slice). Example:

Alice|3
Bob|1
Carol|1

Detected weights: Alice×3, Dana×2

How it works

  1. 1

    Add weights

Put | and a number after a name. Higher numbers are more likely.

  2. 2

    Keep Weighted pick on

It is enabled by default here. Optional: keep Spin wheel on for a live reveal.

  3. 3

    Draw

Results show ×weight so you can confirm the rule matched the winner.

Frequently asked questions

How does Name|2 work?

The number is a relative weight. Alice|3 against Bob|1 means Alice is about three times as likely as Bob in a fair weighted draw.

Do weights work with the spin wheel?

Yes. Higher weights get larger pie slices. Turn the wheel off if you prefer a quiet pick.

What if I omit the weight?

Lines without |number default to weight 1—equal chance with other unweighted names.

Is my list uploaded?

No. Weighted picks run entirely in your browser.
