Frequently asked questions

Is this a list randomizer or a random name picker?

Both. Paste any list and shuffle it, pick names or winners, or generate random groups from the same tool.

Does ListRandom upload my list?

No. Randomization runs in your browser. We do not need an account and we do not send your list to a server.

What is the difference between shuffle and pick?

Shuffle reorders every item. Pick selects only some items (for example one winner or three prizes) and can avoid repeats.

Can I give some names a higher chance?

Yes. Write Name|2 or Name|3 on a line and enable Weighted pick. The odds change in the draw, and the spin wheel shows larger slices for higher weights.

How do share links work?

Copy share link saves your list and settings in the page URL. Anyone with the link can open the same setup. Only share with people you trust.

Can I pair people randomly?

Yes. Choose Pairs mode to match names two-by-two. If the count is odd, you can allow one person to sit out as a bye.

What does a seed do?

With Advanced → Use seed, the same seed and list produce the same shuffle, pick, groups, or pairs—useful for repeating a fair draw later.
